The Henna paste has been applied to the skin and is still wet.  The Henna will dry fully over the next 30-60 minutes...

The Henna paste is now dry (with a texture just like dried mud).  The design here has been coated with a solution of Lemon Juice and Sugar and hopefully the client will keep the henna on the skin for as long as possible to develop

as dark a design as possible...

The dried Henna was removed, and this picture shows the colour the skin has been dyed 24 hours after Henna the henna was removed from the skin.

 

Designs darken further over 48 hours (after application) to their darkest shade.

Henna is a semi-permanent natural dye and skin conditioner made from the dried, ground leaves of the Henna plant.  Henna originated from Egypt 5000 years ago and is creatively used in the Middle East, Africa and India to mark auspicious occasions, especially weddings and festivals!   

 

Today, Henna is appealing to many as it is temporary body art which stains the skin for up to 6 weeks (usually 7 days to 2 weeks on most people) with colours ranging from light orange to deep Burgundy (depending on skin type).  We have time-served Henna Artists who specialises in Middle Eastern, Indian, Asian and Contemporary designs.  We use only NATURAL HENNA.
